I'm a beginner Pascal programmer and I recently migrated to the Mac OS X. Today I spent many hours searching for a good Pascal IDE for this OS and found nothing. I used to write code with Geany on Windows and it worked like a charm, I also enjoyed the compiling and running capacity of Geany. Target Mac OS (Classic Mac OS) Free Pascal 2.0 for Mac OS is the current release. It will work on latest classic Mac OS (that is 9.2.2) and below, probably down to 7.1.2 (the first Mac OS for PowerPC), and also in the classic compatibility environment on Mac OS X. However it has only been tested on Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X classic environment. Free Pascal 3.2.0 is currently available for the following platforms: - Linux-i386 - Linux-x8664 (amd64) - Linux-powerpc - Linux-sparc - Linux-ARM - Win32-i386 (2000/XP, WinNT or later) - Win64-x8664 (XP or later) - Wince-ARM (cross compiled from win32-i386) - FreeBSD-i386 - FreeBSD-x8664 - Mac OS X/Darwin for PowerPC (32 and 64 bit) - Mac. Download English (US), CUDA Application Support: In order to run Mac OS X Applications that leverage the CUDA architecture of the NVIDIA GPU, including Adobe Premier Pro CS5, you will need to download a runtime CUDA driver.
Portal:Mac
This portal provides an overview of development for macOS (previously marketed as Mac OS X until 2012 and OS X until 2016) with Lazarus and Free Pascal. Development of macOS software is easy with Lazarus using the Cocoa (64 bit) widgetset. The Carbon widgetset is also available but only for 32 bit software and only up to macOS 10.14 Mojave. Apple removed the Carbon framework from macOS 10.15 Catalina (2019) - that operating system and future versions will no longer run any 32 bit software. Other widgetsets like Qt are also supported, but their use requires additional effort. Free Pascal can also be used to develop software for Mac OS Classic and older versions of macOS (before Tiger). |

Free Pascal is a professional 32 and 64-bit Pascal compiler. It is multiplatform and open source that integrates with Xcode and is available for various processor architectures, among them: Intel x86, Amd64/x86_64, PowerPC, and PowerPC64.
Free Pascal includes three templates to work with Apple's development suite: FPC Carbon Application, FPC-C-C Carbon Application, and FPC Standard Tool. The first allows you to create a new project from the Carbon application with its corresponding resources and nibs. The second adds the possibility to use files mixed from Pascal, C and C. The third allows you to create a project with which to produce a line command tool.
To create a new project, select the Pascal option in the user templates and click on one of the previous templates.
